Squirt's first Woodcock!

Got Squirt out for the first time this year this past weekend and bagged his first Woodcock. This came as quite a surprise since I haven't seen a Woodcock in this part of Southern Illinois in about 20 years (doesn't mean they haven't been there, I just haven't seen them). After stomping around for about 3 hours without much luck, we were headed back to the truck when Squirt locked up on point, wasn't expecting it considering it didn't look like good quail cover, that's when the little doodle flushed. Squirt actually pointed another one a couple of times, but we gave him a pass and decided to call it a day on a good note. It was fun to see him point the little timberdoodles, he's been a pro on quail and pheasant, always fun to see your dog do something new.
