Hey Fellas.
A buddy and I are taking my 8 month old GSP to South Dakota next week for a couple days. I usually hunt around Aberdeen, but we're heading down to Chamberlain to try something new. I know there are a lot of "lodge hunting" opportunities over there, but does anyone have thoughts on public land quality or permission hunting in that area? I've starting digging into some maps and am seeing a lotof land around the river.
Any information or tips for getting my pup on some birds this time of year would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I hunted there two years ago and it was a bust.

Get a South Dakota hunting atlas. This will show all of the public hunting ground in the state. Chamberlain gets hit hard by non-residents, so late season hunting can be tough. If you can, hit the areas about 30 min. South of Chamberlain. Birds are up, but still have to work for a limit.
