grouse hunting ohio

Anyone still grouse hunt in ohio. Me and the pup going to checkout shawnee forest tomorrow. Just wanted to see if anyone still does it in ohio. Not looking for any spots or anything just seeing if anyone does in southern ohio.

Some people (like me) refuse to hunt Ruffed grouse after November out of some notion (misguided or not) that doing so helps the population

Yes, some do.
Go for it!
Hit the ice storm area as well...and paper lands that are still open to the public, as the paper mill still needs fed.
Remember also, the ruffed grouse get a bit easier on the 3rd re-flush.
Just have fun.
Might even recruit some buddies as Grousehunters.....skirmish lines work aces.
It's all about hunting....every last bit of it.

*And, do not forget..Join the RGS...if you have not already done so.
You will pick up some tips of the remaining good areas at the local SW Ohio chapters and probably some hunting buddies.
If not, you will know that your dues are being well spent....Gilbert Gnarley speaks well of them.
