Kinda cold

Thought I might go duck hunting this morning and was hoping it might warm up, but at -8 even the open part of the Snake River will have flow ice. From single digit temps and lower is my limit, anybody hunt ducks over open water temps that low?

Went out this morning and it was in the low 20's. I was ready for shirt sleeves compared to earlier this week.

This Saturday is my last chance to hunt pheasant and quail. It was forecast to be in the teens, but now they've upped it to the 20s so I feel fortunate. Especially when tomorrow's low is -2.

-48 in Daniel, WY (actual temp, not wind chill) on Wednesday morning, the coldest temp for the lower 48 in 2014!!!

Back up to the mid 30's today, that is an 80 degree swing in temperature!!!

Now that the temps have climbed a bit I've hit the river and success has been limited, the puddle ducks have thinned out quite a bit. Lots of goldeneye and I've shot a few of those.
