looking at some of the other threads from other states (MI, CO, WY), it looks to be shaping up for a good season. Any Minnesotans having similar observations? Fourtrax?

Was camping at Savanna Portage State park when a young bird flew right into our campsite, landing on a branch 10 feet above my dog's head. The sound of those wings beating the air as it flew away got my heart pounding!

I live in a wooded area of Duluth and my wife walks the dogs early each morning. A couple of days ago the dogs put up a covey. It amazes me that over the years, there seems to at least be one surviving pair of grouse inhabiting these woods in spite of the skunks, fox, occasional coyote and housecats.
