Minnesota Grouse

FIgured this would be the best place I could find serious bird hunters.

I'm looking for an experienced grouse hunter to help a new guy out....new to the Twin Cities, not to bird hunting. My pup (an 8year old English Pointer/Red Setter mix) is a solid bird dog on woodcock, pheasant, snipe, and bobwhite, but I've never had the opportunity to bag a grouse. There just isn't a huntable population in our home Indiana. If there's someone who knows the northern woods and grouse habitat and patterns, but wants a hunting partner and good dog work (she's a well-conditioned, bird finding machine that can go all day), I'm more than willing to pay for gas and lunch.I just moved here for my wife's job, and I'm really hoping to get connected with some bird fanatics.
