Just got a 20 ga. Benelli legacy same set up as montefeltro. Love it for carrying and quick pointing on chuks. My other gun is 12 ga is only 2 pounds heavier. But trust me lighter shells and lighter guns make long hikes for the devil birds more enjoyable. Almost went with the benelli m2 but synthetic just feels more duck blindfish than uplandish for me. Good luck!

We both shoot beretta xplor lite. I like mine and my owner shoots hers really well. Three years and now problems.

If you're hunting chukars I would go with a fully automatic with a drum clip :D

Benelli all the way! If you wanna stay with a 12 the Benelli Ultra Light has no equal as a chukar gun, just pick one up and you will get it. If you want a 20 ga. go with the Montefeltro, sub 6 lbs, dead reliable, shims, decent wood, under a grand. If you want plastic look at the m-2.

Get one you don't mind getting all gouged up from rocks.
A customer just bought a Tri star viper g2 silver, very light and will not break the pocket book.

If only this were an option! As is, I carry a 20 gauge Citori and I often wonder why I even bother with the second shot. If you can't get under them (and they don't run) the dang things fly off the hill so fast I often wonder why I even waste the second shell. Red-legged devil bird

My go to chukar gun for the last 6 years is a Benelli M2 20ga #6's.

Yes is it gouged, scraped and ugly; but it is light weight and reliable.

Yes, I had one triple on chukar with this shotgun. I just never could have done that with my SXS, even though I shoot it better.

I'm a big Benelli Ultra Light fan (BUL). Most versatile gun on the market. 12g a. comes in around 6# 3oz. I have shot mine waterfowl, grouse, woodcock, pheasant, huns. Handles all loads well and never jams. Fabulous gun.

Don't buy an expensive over and under and then go ruin it on the rocks. You will break the fall with your gun as you slide down the mountain I guarantee it. Instead buy an expensive benelli and use it to break the fall on the rocks. There's less emotional pain when you scratch up a semi auto.
