I get couple days out of my astro probably 12 or 14 hours. Should still be on. That's on the fastest update time, I think 3 seconds. Think there is also a recovery mode you can switch on that slows down update when it gets lower maybe the last 20%. I have tt10 and tt15 collars

I would definitely slow the update rate and it should be working. Good luck!

had my astro on the counter to run the batteries up and down so they stayed good while I await actually being able to use it in the future. (no dog right now)

I finally turned it off after 2 days of it blinking. When they are not connected to the handheld they must not use much energy at all.

curious if he found it!

I lost a handheld once which I found the next day. My wife accused me of leaving it intentionally so I could skip work the next day to hunt. But that's crazy. I've got a lot of less expensive things I could leave in the field for a valid excuse to hunt an extra day than that.

You dropped your wedding ring in the field?

No. Just the e-collar controller. Although I was with a guy who did lose a wedding ring while deer hunting, likely during the field dressing process. We looked unsuccessfully and his unhappy little wife made him get a tattoo on his left ring finger.
