A couple of guys that have a private preserve near Cameron, MO are hosting a free youth pheasant hunt on October 8th. It is open to youth 11-15 years of age with a hunters safety certification. The day will consist of trap shooting, 2 pheasant hunt and bird cleaning demonstration. Please see the flyer using the link below for full details and registration information.

We used to do this event every fall until 2015 when none was scheduled due to some changing of positions with the local conservation employees. They have a good habitat station with an area manager and private lands conservationist, blue rock shooting station with coaching if needed, a two bird per hunter pheasant hunt and followed by lunch and bird cleaning. There is an abundance of trained conservation staff and local hunters to answer questions concerning upland bird hunting. Typically there are extra birds, clays and food for the youth. Kevin Henry of Cameron, and myself, David King of Cameron once again provided our pointers to guide with. While I would like to see more kids next year this was a quality event.
