Saturday grouse hunt

didn't get a shot at a grouse all last year, which was bad for my young poodle. We've been putting up birds the previous three times we went out. Finally got a shot this past Saturday.
The poodle seems to be coming along.

it seemed like he was mouthing the bird when he picked it up, but not a mark on it when I cleaned the bird


Saturday was drizzly/foggy and temps in the mid 60's. My old Lab, Chaz, although arthritic, still loves to get out.

It was 80+ here yesterday and I simply cannot hunt my setter in such temps. Poor guy gets distressed no matter how much water I make him drink.
