Saskatchewan Upland?

Post by Brian Tiffany » Mon Aug 21, 2017 3:31 pm

Anyone familiar with the Ituna/Foam Lake region? Just wondering if thats to far north for good upland numbers. Mainly looking for Grouse & Huns. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

My son and his friends have been hunting Ruffs NW and NE of Edmonton for years with excellent results. It's about a hundred miles further North than Ituna. All of the areas they usually hunt are now closed due to oil exploration and production. I was going to go with them this year but now we're looking at Saskatchewan and have the same questions about bird numbers..............Google Earth Pics look like decent Ruffed habitat around all of those lakes and a lot of it appears to be Crown Land. Hopefully some of you will have first hand information.
