We should of had 5 roosters but ended up with 3. We had quite a few hens sit for points & we had other roosters get up out of range.
The weather was good but the hills were steep :( . I sure miss not having any dogs of my own anymore, but it's still fun watching my buddies dogs
hunt and handle birds. :D

Nice work! If that doesn’t make you put a deposit down on a pup, I don’t know what will.

Mark does judge AKC hunt tests and he is a great guy. Back when I put 4 master titles on my britts I used to go up to Sioux Falls a lot and run in their hunt tests. Really nice grounds close to town--too bad the NAVDA club lost the grounds. Mark said the grounds they are using now is almost too tall to see the pointing dogs. It's supposed to snow 1 to 3" tonight where we hunt, so Mark & I are going to try it again tomarrow. :D

Mid West Tristates Navhda has leased some new grounds which Mark was at this last fall. Grounds hold promise but need lots of work. Anyone near SiouxFalls should check into membership and the grounds. Couple of members generously donate time, knowledge, and the tools to get the training done! Think birds, traps, blank loads and live rounds.

Anyways hunted some private ground today in the gently falling snow. Birds were a little spooky but our group of 4 got 5 birds. Lady friend was 1 of the hunters , trying to get her her first bird but she is slow as heck and never reacts in time. My buddy noticed this immediately but I had to point out to him that his brother was blasting at birds at 70 yards all the way out to 100.
Lots of birds and some great points on hens😉
