I have a NEF starter pistol that fires just fine, but the hammer does not stay cocked if I try to use it single action. Is there something that might need cleaning on the inside that might take care of it? I don't think that it has been shot enough times to wear anything out.
Thanks,
Mike

I've had mine over 20 yrs now and don't recall ever having fired it single action. Don't even know if it was designed to fire that way.
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

Don,
You might be right. I had not used it for about 10 - 12 years, so I may be wrong in assuming that I had used it that way in the past.

I have an NEF and the only way I fire it is single action. I've had mine for about 15 years. For retriever training, I'm usually throwing a bird with my right hand and shooting the popper with my left - weaker hand.
