The best self defense ammo is the sound from the 870 slide action . That would deter 95% of the people breaking into your house, and if that doesn't work, as long as its not something living, if they want it bad enough to shoot me, they can have it.

Actually truth is that the familiar sound of an 870 slide can't be mistaken for anything else and more than likely the only thing required to run em off.
