have a buddy who shoots kent steel shells, they are more reasonable in price and he likes them. since they are cheaper buy a box a find out, worst case you will have a box of crappy shells.

While I reload I find alot of my sporting clays buds shoot the Kent and have no complaints about them.

shot a case of them at trap last summer...any issues weren't the shells fault
good for the price. a little more residue than i like but for hunting they should be ok.

Just got back from a pheasant trip to SD where we shot Kent exclusively. No complaints, we hit what we were pointing at. LOTS more residue in the barrel than I've ever seen, but we boresnaked each gun after each hunt and it all came right out, so no big deal.

If you shoot a gas operated gun, I would not buy them. They use some filthy powder. I have bought and do shoot quite a few different Kent loads but there again, I only own Benelli's and break open guns.

I never thought of it as filthy powder I just thought they used A LOT of powder. A lot of lead too.

I use Kent Fast Lead 4 1/4 Dram 1/12 oz. #6 shot. I like em. Good for roosters. Pattern well for me. Not many running cripples. A little extra cleaning as previously posted though. Don't try them for quail LOL.

I have never tried their upland bird loads, I prefer Fiocchi Golden Pheasant. However, I have shot CASES of 3" and 3.5" Fasteel and never had an issue. That is what I prefer for waterfowlin.
