Steal shot only barrel

A friend gave me a remington model 1100 semi auto. The barrel indicates "steal shot only", another friend looked at it and said all I need to do is change out the chokes. Does that sound right, or do I need to get a new barrel?

Steel shot is harder on a barrel than lead. The choke may need changed but I cant see the softer lead being a problem when steel is harder on a barrel. Only an opinion, I would contact a local gunsmith before taking advice about guns on a dog forum.
