Side by Side Shotguns

Post by gspkimber » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:55 pm

Can you recommend a good side by side 20 gauge shotgun for hunting. I would like to stay in the 500-700 range. Have any of you shot/owned a CZ Bobwhite?

CZ Ringneck or Bobwhite in a 28 gauge is my next gun assuming all goes well with my new CZ Redhead. I held a Ringneck a couple weeks ago and it was very sweet. The guys at my Skeet Club love the CZ's.

if you are near Academy you should look this gun up. Unfortunately they will not ship and Yildiz has no other dealers.

I don't own a CZ bobwhite, but i do own a CZ canvasback. I've had it for a little over 6 months and have had no issues. I shot trap with it weekly throughout the summer months and have had it pheasant hunting about 6 times in the last 3 weeks. So far I love it, its a pheasant slaying machine. Just my 2 cents on the CZ brand.

Have had a CZ Ringneck 28 ga for three years. Love it!! Usually use it as a back up gun on Texas quail. Pulled it out to use on some Kansas pheasants on a controlled shooting area last week and had great luck with it. Lots of fun to shoot.

I've owned two CZ Bobwhites, in 12 ga. and 28 ga. I now have a Ringneck in 28 ga. I liked the Bobwhites a lot, but had problems with both guns that required warranty work. I love the Ringneck too, but just recently have had problems with the left barrel not firing. These are good looking guns and the price is right, but have no illusions that you are buying a quality gun. On the plus side the company has been very good with warranty work. I'm hoping the Ringneck cures itself and I won't have to send it in for repair.

If you a looking for a good cheap shotgun yildiz are nice for the money. I have an over/under 20 and a 410 sxs. Haven't had a problem with either. Only place you can get them is Academy.

If it were me i would look for a good used side by side.. Its the best time to buy a good gun cheap, lots of guys need $ an out of work with the bad economy. If you could find a older Ithaca, they made some great side by sides with single triggers. Wish i could find one. Good luck!

A good used SKB can be found in that price range and you won't have to worry about hard triggers or warranty work. I am partial to the 2ooE in 20 gauge.
