I am a simple person. Why would you take something like that in the woods or would you? That gun is too pretty.

it looks like a part of the lock opens for cleaning or repair.

The cover plate is hinged on the front edge so it can be opened like Giterdone said.

Gimmick...beautifully done, but a gimmick....might be worth the price for the craftmanship..but I doubt it.
The W.R. detachable lock was a better design and far more sturdy.
