Probably the best semi on the market. It's the "auto 5" of this generation. Boom Boom Boom !!!!!!!!

Well, if you like shooting 3.5-inch shells, you can't get much butter than an SBEII. On the other hand, I have heard some folks who own Winchester SX3s to argue that.
I'd always wanted an SBEII myself, but then I realized I really don't like shooting 3.5-inch shells that much. To me, the perfect autoloader is the Benelli M2. Cheaper than its big brother without losing any of the Benelli Boom, boom, boom. I found an American (no ComforTech stock) M2 12 ga. with a 26-inch barrel for $950 new at a local sporting good stores. Trying to save my pennies....but I'd rather just win the lottery

That is a real man's gun. I would bet half the duck hunters in NJ have at least one. I saw a guy get thrown out of a canoe shooting 3.5" once. He was a dentist about 140lbs wet, which he was LOLO
There is nothing to criticize except how macho that gun is, may be too overtly flashy that way for some.
It is not the most subtle piece.

I also was looking at the M2 as i never shoot 3.5 but I got the SBE American for 899, couldn't pass it up.

Just shot my first turkey this year with my SBE 2. Went down like his head was cut off with a razor with those 3 1/2 sheels. One of the most versatile guns on the market Shot quail, and dove too. No ducks yet.

I love my SBE2. I added a stronger recoil spring and magazine spring right out of the box ( simple home surgery that cost 20.00) and it has never failed. I only use it for duck hunting where its totally abused and neglected but still goes boom boom boom.
Mine is the american with camo and black, you really don't need that comfort tech stock, its a gimmick that barely works for the price difference.
the factory camo job on all benelli's leaves a lot to be desired
negatives.
a little heavy to hike for miles with.
the finish on the american is garbage. it rusts like crazy. I fixed it by applying duracoat ( at home surgery $15.00) . now no more rust, and it gets left in the back of the truck nearly all duck season without being cleaned until the end.
the american doesn't come with the stock fit shims, so I ordered some to get my SBE2 to fit me perfectly.
I would say get the american out of all the reincarnations of the SBEII, do $40.00 worth of at home-mods to it so you have a incredibly reliable, bullet proof weapon.

Anyone have anything else to add to this thread? How does it do with lighter loads?

Since I started this thread I have run every thing imaginable through my SBE. I have yet to have a failure to feed regardless of load. I've shot 1 ounce loads up to 1 3/8 steel.
I love it.

Thanks, Coop. I might be able to get a very righteous deal on one. Is there anything at all you dislike about the gun?

I have had my sbe since way before the ll came out, we pass shoot snow geese a whole lot. I love it its much lighter than most other semi autos out there. I don't use it at all for upland hunts. I have an old 16 gauge sxs for that. I bought my son a Beretta extrema 2 and I like the sbe better and so does he. I have never had a problem cycling any load in it.

Shot one for a couple years until the Versa Max came out.
30 hours not one misfire. Able to completely field trip a Remingotn with no special tools. I love my Versa-Max more then the SBEII
