Are you brand oriented?
Are you brand oriented when it comes to guns? Regardless, whats your favorite brand of firearms? If you feel like saying why enlighten us...
I'll start...
I'd have to say Browning is my favorite. (As you can see its first on the list ) I've use them for years and they have worked flawlessly for me. I own 3 and I'm about to "inherit" another one, a square back 12 gauge shotgun. (What better way to do yard work and get paid in guns )
As of now, I'm not brand oriented I'd pretty much buy any quality gun I "need".

I would say I am brand oriented but it's more of a list of what i wouldn't want.
Mossberg is at the top of that list by the way.
As far as the guns I like: I love my 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge, wouldn't trade it. I love my Beretta Urika 391 20 gauge, but I wouldn't give up my 870 for it. My dad has a Benelli Legacy 20 gauge, it's nice but I always tell him "not bad for a dago gun!". One of my good friends has a Ruger Red Label 28 gauge, I'd love to have that one! Another I guy I hunt with carries Browning Citori's, nice but heavy.

brands
I would say i am not.I like Berreta, mossberg,SKB,Benailli.when it comes to rifles Remington,Savage and Ruger although i do like the Marlin 444.magnum in the guide gun model that is one heck of a bonebreaken caliber. Now camo thats a different subject. But when talking guns what ever fits and works.I can say Remington is not swaying me to buy their stuff from some recent clients having problems with the trusty 1100 semi-auto singleshot(7 differnt people had those).

I am not really brand oriented. I just prefer different guns for the type of shooting. For example: 2 barrell guns=weatherby, autoloaders=benelli, rifles=savage (with the accutrigger) or berretta's tikka series, handgun=1911's kimber hands down and tactical type handguns would be springfield armory XD's. I also feel that any gun that fits you and you shoot well is a good gun.
I voted Remington because of the ability to break it down without any special tools. So if anything goes wrong when you are in the feild you can fix it right there on the spot. I also like Remington because they dont cost you an arm and a leg. So if you scratch and bang them you dont feel as bad as you would if it were your 5 thousand dollar gun.
But I also like Beretta and their O/U or the Benelli for ducks and geese.

I've got a Mossy 500 20 ga. pump, a 1964 Browning A-5 Light Twelve, and a Franchi Veloce 20 ga. O/U.
Brand oriented? Nah. Most any gun you get these days is going to be reliable. Case in point, my Mossy 500 is a cheap gun but it has never, ever failed me. The extra you pay for a more expensive gun is usually sunk in the name, with some of it going toward features or quality. When my family was looking to get me a nice O/U for graduation, my grandpa told me that he looked at some of the Browning Citoris. He looked at the Franchi Veloce, though, and found a gun of equal quality with much fancier engraving and better looks for less money. Gun to gun, names thrown out the window, he felt that the Franchi was a better gun and a better price. And he's always been a Browning man himself.
So when I look for a gun I make a list of features, not a list of models. Then I go out and look for the best deal that meets my demands, regardless of what brand the gun is.
Right now I've been looking at a lightweight 20 ga. auto for my wife. Benelli, Browning, Beretta, Remington, Franchi, Ithaca, Mossberg, Winchester... I've looked over them all.

You're very right, Pear. We have my Grandfather's A-5 from long ago...what a beautiful work of steel and wood. I have a Browning Gold that has served me well, but falls short in reliability. I have seen the same thing happen to the Remington 870. What was once a real gem has been turned into a Walmart Special. The last one I saw on the rack had these half moon grooves on the rib...must have been a cheaper way to go...but SO UGLY!!
Put some ground under the dogs...
I have 5 shotguns and all are different brands.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Definetly Brand Oriented, as well as Model Oriented. I shoot Beretta's and love the 686 Silver Pigeon. I have it in a 12 20 and 28. They fit me well and when switching guages I'm still shooting essentially the same gun. Bonus factor is Beretta's tend to go up in value making your gun collection somewhat of an investment. I have about every make of shotgun but always seem to find one of the Beretta's in my hand

I'm not brand oriented, I've generally bought based on the quality and features of the gear. It takes more than a nifty logo to get me to buy. I pretty much know or at least have a good idea what I want, then shop around for whatever I can get that meets that criteria.
I just bought a Browning, and the fit and finish on the gun is excellent. The machined parts fit together absolutely perfectly, and the fit between wood and metal is flawless. Truly a beautiful machine.
Franchis are very nice guns, I was seriously considering getting one in 20 ga, and almost certainly would have if I had not found a Browning in 16ga.
Except I can't figure out what is the right way to pronounce it - is it "Fran-kee" or Fran-chee"? I've heard it both ways, but I'm sure only one is right.

I guess I am brand oriented when it comes to shotguns. All my go-to shotguns are SKB's.
I only have one center fire rifle and it's a Browning A-Bolt in 243. I still have my old Remington 550-1 22 rimfire and a custom Ruger 10/22.
In hand guns I have 3 1911's, Caspian, Springfield and one put together from scrap parts. I also have a High Standard Citation 22 target model.

I've acquired a number of guns as my intrerest in hunting has increased.
So, Ive put them chronologicaly and what I hunted with them.
H & R 20 Ga. - (Rabbits)
Franchi 12 Ga. AL48 (Pheasant)
Remongton 12 Ga.870 Express (Ducks - Salt Water)
Browning 20 Ga. Lightning Feather 26" (Grouse-Woodcock)
Browning 3 1/2"- 12 Ga. Satin Hunter 26"(Geese, Ducks-Corn Lots)
1898 L.C. Smith 12 Ga.
1927A.H. Fox Sterlingwerth
I bought them all used so I don't really have any particular brand loyalty.
I will say the Brownings have been reliable.
The L.C. Smith has the best fit and finish but the worst drop at the heel.
I'm cleaning the big Browning and the Remington. Duck season starts in two weeks.

I like CZ for over unders and I like benelli for there semi-autos. I like remingtons pumps and savage + remington for rifles. I also like any thing with a good looking dog ingraved on it. I also saw a browning silver (I think thats what it is) and it was good lookin. If I had to choose one all around shotgun it would be the 870 wingmaster. For just a trap gun benelli.
