Is this a new or used shotgun? Have you cleaned the ejectors? Did you lube them?

I believe the Silver Hawk may have been the model to feature selectable ejectors or extractors with the turn of a screw.
Not sure I trust my memory but that is what I would investigate first.

Yes, definitely selectable. The switch is under the forearm. (great gun BTW)
