Ramset .22 primer blanks

Looking to start Perfection Kennels gun acclimation. I have some of the Ramset (green & yellow) primers i bought from Home Depot. I dont have a “blank training pistol”…I have plenty of .22 revolvers and semi auto pistols. Am I ok to shoot these out of a standard pistol? I just want to make sure these blanks won’t cause harm to the pistols…for anyone that has used them before. Thanks

The Green and Yellow have a tendency to expand at the crimp when fired. This makes them hard to eject from the cylinder of my bank pistol. I prefer the Brown loads but also reload 20ga. blanks with varying load charges.

Thanks. Exactly what I needed to know. I don’t have any blanks so I was hoping the ramset would work for the .22. I have plenty and plenty of 20 & 12 ga shells so I should be good there.

Charter Arms Pro 209 is the ticket if and when you buy one. At least it is, if you can get or have a stash of 209 primers.

The #2 Ramset loads(brown box) are what you need.

The #3 and #4 loads are more powerful and louder. I suspect that since you are using an actual .22 you will be fine with any type of blank, but some of the cheaper blank guns may not handle the stresses of the high power ramset loads. I use #2 Ramsets in an NEF blank gun all the time and my son uses them in a H&R blank gun with no issues. They both have handled black powder loads that are as loud as most 20 ga. shotgun loads.

In any case, I would wear a sturdy leather glove the first time I shot Ramsets(especially the 3's and 4's) through any gun, just to be safe.

I used the #3's ( I believe Green box) and they are definitely loud. My dog did good, but I would probably prefer it not as loud. Our local HD does not have any Brown box's in stock. I may can find them elsewhere.

Training has been flawless. For those who are on the fence, I would definitely recommend this route if you already have .22 pistols and would rather save on blanks.
