Most states are closed now. If you are looking for some action in MO, try Greenwood Pointe outside of Booneville. It is a top notch preserve. I have been there twice last fall, and plan to go again in a week or two. Here is a link.

With quail I guess there's so many varieties of quail and styles of hunting that you can't go wrong with several states. I hunt Northern Bobwhites in southern Illinois with no problems, but I don't have enough experience in other states to say which one is "best."

Historically you have to say Georgia but personally I don't have a clue if that is still true.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

For true WILD bobs, OK is the king of all states with TX being second. With its much smaller size, the number of birds taken each year is amazing. However, there are NO birds in OK or TX this year. Give it a year or two. Now, for blues and gambels, NM, southwest of El Paso, is the deal!! This year there are TONS of birds!
Plan to spend around $200 a day on day leases in OK and TX. OK public lands are OK, TX public lands are most often a bust.

I have heard about lots of birds in south GA. Everyone that goes down there comes back saying thats not true, Like every where in my state the birds are about gone. The game Mgt. here says there are lots of birds here but they are getting smarter and harder to find. When you do find them here in N GA they flush 30 or 40 yards before the dog can point, The highest count of Quail here in GA was just after the civil war the books say. Sonny From what I can here, Lots of Quail in OK and TX.

There are TONS of quail in S/W Idaho. They are literally everywhere this year. I saw 5 coveys this morning alone all with 20+ birds
Not Bobwhites though they are Valley (California) quail which for some reason people don't seem to like to hunt. Although there are allegedly Bobs here around Boise I have never seen them.

Missouri Quail Hunting
I hunted a couple of different areas this year. Twice in northern part and quail numbers were way down. Only found 2-3 coveys per day and that was a lot of miles in what looked to be excellent cover.
I also hunted in the center of the state above I70 and had a couple of decent hunts finding 3-4 coveys in afternoon hunts.
