Fromm dog food
Fromm dog food
The dog food I have been using I have been told is going out of business, and I was looking at the new Fromm food, I haven't seen it mentioned here, is anyone using it ? like? dislike?
Re: Fromm dog food
I use to use it and it was excellent. Been several years ago though. I had to switch as our dealer retired.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

We use it. Good stuff, but it can be hard to find.

Petra,
I'm curious, what food were you using that is now going out of business.

Re: Fromm dog food
The food I was using is Solid Gold that I have heard is going out of business, the person I get my food from carries Fromm which is made here in MN. She wasn't happy with it when it first came out, but likes the food now, and she really does her research, she says even the pickiest dogs that won't eat for several days when she gets them will eat this food, I didn"t state the food I was using because I am the over indulgent owner of dogs that people on this forum have made fun of, but when I have a dog with an $8,ooo leg, a few extra dollars spent on food is not a concern any more, everything is relative.
Re: Fromm dog food
Fromm's is an old company. I fed it years ago. Was a good food way back then. I think your dog will like it.
I have a dog with an expensive leg also but he gets the same junk I feed the other dogs. They have to eat it or go hungry since they don't get anything else. That way you get away from the dog getting picky.

Re: Fromm dog food
Fromm looks like a good product. I have a dealer less than 30 miles away. I will check it out. I looked at the ingredients of the classic adult dry. I assume it's no more than say $26 for 40 lbs., or it would be overpriced for me.

Re: Fromm dog food
I am at the end of the first bag I have tried. I am pleased with the food, but my under weight dog has lost weight. The calorie content was not high, but I have never feed a food my dogs ate as good, they loved the stuff. Even the cats will eat it if the dogs let them. I feed Solid gold bark at the moon, but I was looking for something a bit more reasonable as far as price. From what I have seen the next closest thing to solid gold is Innova Evo. The next food I will be trying is the diamond naturals Extreme Athlete.
Re: Fromm dog food
If your dog has lost a little weight but loves the food up the quanity slightly and add a tablespoon of oil. Losing a couple of pounds is not an excuse to change feeds normally. It just means he needs a couple of more ounces a day.

Re: Fromm dog food
Good advice Ezzy. I've been trying to figure out how to start a feed argument, but I guess with my knowledge and your experience (or is it the other way around?), we have got everyone educated that's educatable.

Re: Fromm dog food
If you are from MN why not try Nutri-Source or Tuffy's ?
Re: Fromm dog food
Fromm is made in Minnesota the person that I purchase food from stopped Nuti Source and went to Canidae(sp) ., I can't remember the reason. The women that I purchase food from has been breeding and training GSPs for over 30 years and even if I tried I wouldn"t be as picky ie. poop studying, so I let her do all the research and look at what she recommends.
Re: Fromm dog food
Now I found out that the breeder is stopping Canidae due to a formula change, that she feels is not for the better with a price increase, I have a GSP, AKA not a picky eater, I would just like to get a food with some of the stuff that I am Supp. for joints to make my life alittle easier. If the person who sent me the private message of a food to look at, I did and I like what I saw but I deleted the messge and lost the name , please give me the name again.
