English pointer poops a little while sleeping

My 11 year old English Pointer still runs around like a 2 year old puppy,,, but when he sleeps he just lets one little poop nugget out,, he is a very obediant house broken dog and I think he doesn't even know it came out of him,, i tried changing his diet,, letting him out to run around several times a day,, just nothing seems to be working.. Any advise?

I would guess you are seeing one of the side effects of old age. It's probably just the start of losing control. Not so bad as long as you control the amount and time of feeding and you keep him with firm stool .

I agree. If you aren't seeing anything else out of the ordinary it's probably just age. Something you might try is feeding in the morning instead of the evening and give him some good exercise before bed time. CR
