Raw Rash on Brit's neck

Post by Equismith » Sat Oct 24, 2009 7:57 pm

My Brit got a raw spot from her collar. I noticed it about two weeks ago. I removed her collar and found that one of the brass rivets had a snag to it.

I washed the area and covered it in anti-biotic ointment but her scratching has it spreading. It started out about the size of a dime. Now it's a bit smaller than the size of a tennis ball due to her constant scratching. She now has on the "cone of shame" to keep her claws away from it.

Any home remedies or suggestions on getting it healed up so that she doesn't want to scratch it and I can remove the cone collar?

Anything to stay away from?

I'm heading out tomorrow for first aid re-supply and thought I'd ask for something that's worked for you.

Thanks.

( Figured I'd post a photo of my girl in her time of healing... )
