WH0000 Weeeeeee...GAS ISSUES!

Post by twofeathers » Mon Mar 01, 2010 3:39 am

Been feeding my GSP "Black Gold" .................less stool and coat looks great, at first thought the gas was because of change in diet but is not going away. Two questions,
1) Is very raunchy gas a sign of something?
2) Is it harmful other than to my nose?

He really seems to like this feed and I can tolerate the occasional smell but wanted to get some feedback on this.

I have never heard its harmful and it can be fun sometimes, especially when your house is filled with "tween" boys, but they always seem to pass right by you when you are laying on the couch. Maybe feeding a bit less and twice a day - see if that helps, or get something to help digestion.

Oh believe me with a thirteen year old and a nine year old there is always someone else to blame. Perhaps he is getting just a little too much food he eats 3 cups at 8:00A.M. AND 3 cups at 5:00P.M. Believe me he would eat way more If I put more down. He was eating what we were feeding our Austalian Sheppard "Gravy Train". When he got a little older and started becoming more of an "athelete" training and hunting I thought I would get him a feed that would be more suited for him.

6 cups seems like a lot of food. I have fed Blackgold for almost 7 years. I never have fed more than 4 cups to any dog. I have used the Blue, black, & yellow bags. I am now using the Signature series puppy and performance. You might try cutting back, or give the company a call. I have always had my questions answered when I called.

He was 67lbs. at his one year check-up. Probably about the same now. Think I will try cutting back a cup less morning and evening for a bit to see if it helps thanks.
