Swollen eye
Swollen eye
My britt has been waking up with a swollen eye but by mid morning it looks fine. I have attempted to rinse it out. it will be fine, then the following morning it is swollen shut again. There is no puss coming out of it and it doesn’t hurt him. Any ideas?

There`s something in there I would bet. If it were me, I`d be seeing the vet who can look under that third eye lid.

Could be an eyelash going the wrong way. My dog has a blocked tear duct (which DRAINS the tears) and mornings are the worst, that eye gets sealed shut with green gooy stuff. The other dog cleans it off and he is good to go. Feel bad for the fella. I have had good luck with genteal eye GEL after a solid cleaning with saline and cotton balls.

A blocked tear duct can usually be treated medically but occasionally we have to flush the tear duct.
