GSP Can't Keep Weight On

My son has a 5 year old GSP. Who can't hold weight...Doc has said protein allergy and various other things. High white blood cell count. The say no gut flora. Thoughts? He has tried every special diet now tilapia and potatoes. Thanks guys!

Not sure what to tell you - not something I have experienced, but wishing you folks luck in getting it solved.

You live in Iowa, so I would call the vet school at Iowa State and talk to a bunch of the instructors there. I've had real good success with them coming up with solutions when my local vet couldn't solve the problem. Good luck getting it fixed.

This is a very good suggestion. Pretty clear that the dog's lifespan will be affected eventually if you don't get it fixed.
