Stop Sticks
Does anybody know where you can get those sticks that the Vets use to stop bleeding. I have seen them used on open wounds and the on the toe nails if they bleed when they are cliped?? My Vet just called them stop sticks.
Silver nitrate sticks. I "think" they can't be sold to the public legally. I get them but they come out the back door.

Steptic Pencil I think they are called. People used to use them to stop bleeding after shaving.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Train the dog to let you dremel the nails and you won't have to worry about quicking them if you pay any attention at all.

I missed that. Dont cut em so close. It hurts em. I run my dogs and the nails keep short on their own. Unlike a horse, which needs attention every 25 days or so....... I hate them horses, had a leg between mine, he went nutso wind blew or something, yep right in the old boys, that horse waited a few days until Igot him taken care of.on the toe nails if they bleed

Steptic Powder
You can buy steptic powder in a small bottle at most pet supply stores where they sell the toenail clippers. All the on line stores have it too.

Have to agree with Greg. Once the dog learns to except the Dremel, it is less stressful than the clippers. http://homepages.udayton.edu/~merensjp/ ... remel.htmlGreg Jennings wrote:Train the dog to let you dremel the nails and you won't have to worry about quicking them if you pay any attention at all.
