Diamond Hi-Energy Users

For those of you who feed Diamond Hi-Energy have the prices been falling for you guys too? At the TSC in Wichita, KS today I bought the 50 lb bag for $16.99. It was advertised as the new everyday low price. Since Christmas time they have been dropping the price on this feed. In the fall it was about $23.99 per bad. Last fall it dropped to $19.99 a bag overnight. Over the last month or two, it has dropped several times everytime claiming to be the new lower everyday price. For the price, esp. now, its not a bad food. During season, when the dogs are running hard, I mix 2 bags of it with a bag of higher protein food. For those of you that buy at TSC, are you having the same lowered prices? I asked the store mgr what the deal was and he said Diamond was loosing a lot of the market share to other brands that TSC was starting to carry. The regional rep. wanted to get pretty aggressive in regaining the market so he has lowered his price to TSC.

I fed it this time last year and it was $23, almost every bag looked and smelled different so I switched.

I haven't seen the prices falling, but the closest TSC is an hour away so I don't patronize them. I spend about $21 for a 50lb bag from a local feed store. I feed the premium adult which is not much different than the high energy and easy to find around here. Below is the breakdown of the Premium Adult:

Protein: 26% Fat: 18%
Calories: 4,310 kcal/kg (435 kcal/cup) Calculated ME

Below is the High Energy breakdown:

Protein: 24% Fat: 20%
Calories: 3,820 kcal/kg (400 kcal/cup) Calculated ME

I feed a half raw diet also to boost the fat and protein levels. This seems to work excellent. I hope they start bringing down the cost in my area, I wouldnt complain!

Just dropped by the TSC during my lunch break. Diamond Hi-Energy is still $23.99 for a 50lb bag. I go in there about once a week so I'll check back and see if it drops.

Last week the price was $20 for 50 lbs in central Missouri, also Im about 20 miles from the main diamond plant in Meta, MO. You can find Diamond products in pretty much every store around here. I wish the same could be said for Black Gold another local company

I've bought 3 different batches over the past two years- 500lbs for $213.31 tax included- never noticed any difference in the bags, the way they looked, or the way they smelled- interesting someone said each bag smelled different

seems a pretty good dog food- price goes down I won't complain

Orschlen's still has it priced about $23/ bag here, but they said they would price match if you bring in a receipt from a local competitor. They won't lower the normal price, but I can bring in my receipt from TSC to get if for 16.99 at Orschlen's too. To my knowledge the Hi-Energy is the only food sold in the 50# bag. It must have been a misprint on the label. I have never seen it in a 40# bag.

16.49 at the local TSC, but that is due to a price match with the local feed store. The manager at TSC told me he will not be beaten by anyone when it comes to procong Diamond feeds period, he has dropped all the Diamond formulas prices including the Taste of the Wild I feed. I love competition like this :D

Gentlemen,
I priced the Diamond food here in Pa and we are not seeing the decent prices you men are seeing out west, still about $25.00 here for a 40lb bag,
the large breed, which to me is the best for my dogs, is even mode expensive. Further its harder to get around here now, due too some store closings. The nearest tractor supply is now 38 miles away. I have been using Exceed for years but want to add a 50lb bag of Diamond Large Breed to my dogs Exceed diet.

Shadow I went away from Diamond Hi Energy when it was 23.99 a bag but have been buying it in Guymon for 20 bucks a bag here about the last month or so. I know you are up by Liberal. You might try calling the manager at the Guymon store. I used to work there and Jeremy is a pretty good guy, if you tell him you can get it cheaper at another TSC store he might discount it enough to make it worth your while to make a trip over to Guymon. It's worth a shot. Phil you might try telling him the same thing as see what happens.
