The Pride

Anyone have any experience with this food. I ran into a local feed store just to see what they were carrying. They had a large pallet of The Pride in the black bag 24/20 Porcine based food. I asked the price and was told $18.99 for the $50 lb bag. The lady at the counter said they sold a lot of it.

Also, had the Diamond priced at $21.92 for Green bag 26/18, and $18.92 for the 24/20 Hi Energy in the burgundy bag. They also carried Black Gold, PMI and a number of other brands.

This store is the only place I have seen The Pride before. The last time I went in there they had just started selling it. Apparently, it is now one of their fastest moving products.

Of those feeds I would chose Black Gold. Its a very good feed for the price.

I have not heard of Pride, also keep in mind a lot people will just buy the cheapest dog food there is for their backyard dog. Could be why Pride is selling there?

I don't know anything about Pride dog food, but it sounds like the store has good prices.

PMI makes two brands of dog food...Red Flannel and Exclusive. I have no experience with Red Flannel but know many people that feed Exclusive and are very satisfied. Exclusive is more costly than the Red Flannel.

We used to feed Pride, do not know if it's the same as The Pride. But it was porcine too, came out of KY. We really liked it, just had a hard time getting it...

Looked it up on the web and think it is the same feed. Like every other feed there were posts about how good it was and a few that said it was the worst feed in the world. So what is new? When you deal with people you will get every opinion possible and you know no more afterwards than you did before. Seems a lot of hound people feed it and love it.

I started using Pride over 2 years ago after having one of my dogs at Brendas. I liked the condition of my dog after coming back from training and switched. I have used it since then and I am completely pleased. But like Brenda said it is hard to find a dealer in Georgia. I only know of 2 dealers and they both are in N. Georgia.

I could not even find a website on it, there used to be one. We fed a green bag, was 28-18 I think..
