Can anybody tell me where, how and who can test a dog for this?
I have a Rusty bred dog I would like to test before I breed him.
Thanks

Re: Lupoid Dermatosis
"Cheek swabs can be requested to have GSPs tested for $75 per dog. If samples from whole litters are submitted, please contact us for a discount. Requests can be sent to dogderm@vet.upenn.edu . If you think you have an affected dog, please call us at 215-898-0029. We will assist you with making a diagnosis and if possible, designing a treatment strategy to halt the disease process. "

Have they got an actual positive indentifying test available? The one discussed at the 2009 meeting was kind of ambiguous.

I was under the impression they had identified a marker.Cajun Casey wrote:Have they got an actual positive indentifying test available? The one discussed at the 2009 meeting was kind of ambiguous.

I don't think the test is definitive and the disease is believed to be polygenetic or mitigated. The minutes containing the details used to be on the GSPCA website but are now contained in the members only section.ACooper wrote:I was under the impression they had identified a marker.Cajun Casey wrote:Have they got an actual positive indentifying test available?
