Hello everyone. Sorry to be away so long. My cpu went bad on me & I am just now getting around to replacing it. My phone does so much on the net I didnt need it. I couldnt however access this website. I had to visit a friend to post this. I lost Duff today. We fought the siezures with all we had. He started seizing at around 3pm and within 30 minutes he had had 9 seperate seizues on route to the er. It has broken me but putting him down was the right thing to do. I just want to thank you all for your support. Duff was the best dog I ever owned & I dont know how to replace that. I doubt I will be back for a while so I bid you farewell and good hunting & I ask on your next hunt this fall,,,,,, Down one for DUFF!

My condolences for the loss of your wonderful dog. You did the best you could for him.

Very sorry to hear that, partner. Like Cajun Casey said, it sounds like you did everything you could and that is all you can do. He crossed the bridge. I am sure you two will meet up someday to hunt together again on the other side. -Mark

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Very sorry. I've had one dog stolen and had to put a 5 year old down. I know the pain.

IF IT SHOULD BE
If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what needs to be done,
For this last battle can not be won.

You will be sad, I understand;
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years-
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come, so let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend
And please stay with me till the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me
Although my face its’ last has smiled.
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve- it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years-
Don't let your heart hold back its tears
" We are more than our gender, skin color, class, sexuality or age; we are unlimited potential, and can not be defined by one label." quote A. Bartlett

Phonenix, I am very sorry for your loss of Duff: He had a wonderful Face. It is a hard thing to do but you surely did what was best for Duff.

Phoenix,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Seizures like that are hard on a dog, and hard on the owner. Been there, done that :( . I know you did the right thing, and I hope someday another birddawg pup will bring you joy and help you heal.

So sorry to hear this phoenix, it's a very tough time to go through. You will never forget the memories, now you can pass on everything that Duff taught you to your next hunting companion.
