My fiancee finally got her horse out here to the farm after 3 months of rebuilding the barn, fence, pasture, etc. The good for nothing hundred pound lap dog has taken to eating the horse poop, and vomiting regularly on the carpet. I'm not sure but I think there's a connection. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Alternately, I'll entertain trade offers for the dog, the horse, or the fiancee, or any combination of the three,. Just kidding about the fiancee, she's not really an option. And she probably won't let the dog or the horse go either. So I guess I'll settle for some free advice. Thanks.

Dog kennel... or wire the horse area off so the dog can't get in...

Other than that, be careful about letting the dog out for a few days after worming the horse, especially with ivermectin.

I have heard some success with breaking the habit by feeding road apples. The eat, get sick, eat more, get sick...repeat. Soon enough they avoid horse poop.

Make sure your not feeding the horse any corn, wheat, soy or oats. I heard that will make a dog sick... Oh or any other grain. then the dog will eat it and be just fine.

I use an in ground fence system on my farm, keeps them out of the bull pen and the feed lot. Lots of droppings there for them to chomp on. This keeps them out and safe..

Them bulls will put a hurtin on a dog.

This would be my suggestion too. Depending on how big will be $120-$250 and will keep the dog away from the horse poo.

Trash break with e-collar. Let them know that stuff is unpleasant. Let them know fences bite.

I did this years ago only to find my dog would not get close to a fence. Sucks when you need to cross one on a hunt.....

That horse still up for grabs? :) my son wants one........ :(
