My 5 month DK has his permanent canine coming in but his baby canine is still there, should I be worried? Thanks

Not yet. If the tooth is loose, get him some heavy bones to chew on and it should slip out.

I can't recall it ever happening other than exactly that way. The baby tooth will come out soon.

Do watch it close.sometimes they will take a little longer to come out but if it doesn't come out with in the next month take to the vet so they can get it out so it doesn't cause future problems.

you can try Bones ..I would find some flatter or knotted up kinds like raw hide knots or the newer thing I have found that help also keep teeth cleaner then other bones I have tried is the Red Barn Sliced Knuckle bones

Since you are using Merrick's, try a Sarge bone.

that can be and is quite often a genetic fault that will require the baby tooth to be pulled if you want the adult tooth to be in line where it should be. Check the baby tooth and if it isn't loose enough to come out in a few days I would have it pulled.

Some breeds aremuch worse about this happening than others but you definitely want to watch it closely if its not getting loose.

one of the setter pups we had got didn't drop her tooth till she was 6 months old ..the vet actually wanted to wait till about 6 months to see if the body would eventually loosen and drop the tooth which it did..but it had it not dropped the vet did suggest to have it removed

right now the Adult tooth has not fully pushed through so the younger tooth may not be quite at the point of ready to fall out...Just watch it and give a little more time tomorrow call your vet and ask them what they suggest you do and watch for and be sure to let them know the adult tooth is not all the way in yet going by the picture you posted.

I worked as a vet tech for 5 yrs. I have seen in smaller breeds were they did not come out on their own, I never seen a large breed were they didn't. If they don't the vet can remove them

My pups are the same way although hers seem to be fully descended. She's a bit over 5 and a half months and they are not loose yet. She chews on cow hooves all the time, I suppose I'll wait a few weeks yet and then look into having them pulled.

Those knotted rope toys work wonders on puppy teeth.
