Diamond Puppy Food????

Post by Swagg » Fri Jun 24, 2011 12:00 pm

So I have had my pup for almost 8 weeks now, and she is pretty well adjusted and settled in. I have been thinking about switching her foods, as i don't really think she likes the Diamond puppy food. Right now she is on the regular Diamond puppy food. I was thinking about switching her to one of the diamond naturals formulas, anyone have any suggestions. Does she have to stay on a "puppy" formula or will an adult food work just fine.

Oh yeah, she is a 16 week of English Springer Spaniel :)

Switch her if you want. Any premium food should be good.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

We don't feed puppy food at all we just feed a Quality Performance food for us it is the Loyall Performance

Diamond puppy is the best puppy food on the market.

How do you know she doesn't like it?

You can switch her to the Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice Adult formula. She will do find on that food.

Also if you have a Costco near you the Kirkland Chicken & Rice is almost exactly the same formula as the Diamond Naturals C & R and for less money in 40# bags.

All you can do is try and see what happens.

I guess I really dont have anything to prove that she does not like it< I just get that feeling. She does not get excited to eat at all, only seems to eat because she has not other choice. If i put food down she will go over smell it, wonder around some, and then come back to it. Also if we go anywhere else that has dog food she goes crazy trying to get to it. Maybe I'm the crazy one.... :)

That doesn't make it the best.

I feed Diamond Naturals Large Breed. Because the two I'm feeding now do great on it. My last pointer didn't do so great on it, so he ate something else.

Best is quite the claim, and one that really shouldn't be made without proof. There are plenty of dogs that do great on all sorts of food.

Can anyone give me an opinion about these options:

Canidae all life stages- chicken, turkey, lamb and fish meal, brown and white rice. 24% protein 14.5% fat

Canidae Grain Free ALS formula- Chicken,Turkey,Lamb and fish meal. 34% protein 18 % fat,

Or
Diamond naturals

Small Breed Lamb and Rice- 25 % protein, 15% fat, 334 Kcal/cup

I have used Canidae since it hit the stores 16 years ago. I have had excellent results with the food. I have mostly used the regular All Life Stage formula. When you need more protein/fat the grain free may help. I would tell you to try it and see how your dog does on it for 30 days or so. It comes in 44# to same you a little money too.

Either are those are fine but if you can find Dr. Tim's Pursuit in Ohio I would grab it. I don't think it will be hard to find in Ohio.
