Questions about TPLO

Post by webfoot1973 » Tue Sep 06, 2011 12:23 pm

OK, looking for some info.. My Griff has had the TPLO 8 weeks ago this Friday. He walks fine, we started swimming, stairs, figure 8's and some other exercises. One thing I have noticed is that when standing he still just touches his toes on the repaired leg? Will this go away??? Are there exercises that I can do to help with this??

Any help would be appreciated.

PM or email me (jlp8@cornell.eu) with your email address. I have a great rehab protocol I can send you.

However, at 8 wks post-op, your dog should be more then toe-touching while standing. Have you asked your vet about this?

Thank you so much for the information . I see that there is a lot of weight bearing exercises that my vet did not recommand.

Thanks again and I will let you know how things go

You are welcome. Yeah, that is a really good rehab program. Might be worth starting from the beginning even though your dog is 8 wks post-op. Good luck!!
