tuf-Foot or Pad Heal?

Post by PA_Sportsman » Thu Jul 15, 2004 10:00 am

My pup's pads have been getting pretty rough lately so I was going to get something to condition them. An equal amount of people have recommended Pad Heal and Tuf-Foot. Any suggestions which is better?

Thanks

I would go with the Tuf-Foot. It's made for more of what you're looking for...conditioning. Even though Pad Heal conditions, it's more for healing pad cuts, splits etc. It provides more of a protective barrier whereas the Tuf-Foot conditions the pad to become more durable.

Rough pads are good!!! That means he's developing a good strong callous to protect his foot! I would do nothing to treat them unless they are showing signs of injury at all. CR

We are always complimented on our dogs tough pads and how neat their nails look. We have over 50' of patio, and clay for dirt in the yard, which keeps both pads and their nails in good working order. Never have to trim nails and they don't get tender feet when training, hunting, or whatever here in TX.
