Post by mydoghasfleas » Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:32 pm

Well its just about the season of the invasion. Wondering what the preferred flea and tick med is??? 32 pound britt just turning a year old. Hes a house dog so would rather avoid the super oily drips... Ideas?

I have used Avon Skin-so-soft since the 90's. Use the scented kind. Shampoo and wash your dog using any type shampoo you prefer. Dry the dog off. Use a pump spray bottle (windex bottle) half SSS, half water, shake and spray. Spray on dog and rub it in hair and onto skin. Apply once a week making sure you mix before using. You may want to add more water. The fleas jump, the flies fly, and keeps the no-see-ums of the soft belly skin. It's great for using while fishing to keep the knats, black flies and mosquito's away, and you smell good too.

For 101 uses for skin-so-soft (80-90 or so pertains to dogs, cats, horses) check out the following:

In 1969, the only woodstock I saw was on my M-14.

Fly Rid, Frontline spray, Scalibor and Prrventic collars, and Capstar if needed.

I've been using the Adams Flea and tick mist to good effect.

Advantix ..... used it for 10+ years and have never seen a flea or a tick.

Been using Comfortis and Frontline plus for years. No flea issues, but still see a bunch of ticks on the dogs crawling around. I do not find ticks that have bitten in on the dogs. After having Lyme Disease myself, I watch for ticks really closely these days.

its sad ADVANTIX and others are getting so expensive.
i went to flea/tick sprays that are really cheap and it works fine.then i wash toby in river with flea/tick shampoo and it last 10 days.

tick sprays workas good as the advantix. i spray toby in woods before we hunt.

K9 Advantix for both dogs: flea & tick season is just about year 'round down here in FL.

BTW, I don't buy it or heartworm meds anywhere except online these days: much cheaper.
