Button Tumor?

Postby goldenpatch29 » Sun May 13, 2012 4:13 pm

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of, or had experience with Button tumors??????.....and if so, is it a bad trait in a dog, or just something that is not a big deal?

They are usually not malignant, but may have to be removed if they keep ulcerating. Seem to be more annoying than serious.

Yeah....My pup had one and eventually it just went away, but my question is....would this be considered a breeding flaw, or a reason not to breed this particular animal.....which I am not even considering breeding my dog in the future ever. I was just curious about it.

You'd have to do a study on the subject.
Certain breeds are more prone to these tumors but nothing I read says it is hereditary.
