Chewing at a joint

Post by frosso » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:24 pm

My 9 mo old Llew is chewing at the wrist joint above her paw on her front legs. At first I thought it was a skin irritation but I'm not sure it's not joint pain because when I squeeze the wrist she nips at me. I'm going to take her to the vet tomorrow but anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what might be the problem. The dog is a running fool and she isn't limping or favoring anything.

Could be anything, strain, lyme........

That said, I have one that just loves to mouth and knaw on her front and back legs.....I'm convinced she just enjoys it. If i tell her knock it off after awhile , she'll stop.
The second kick from a mule is of very little educational value - from Wing and Shot.

I hope it's her quirkiness and not something more serious.

Is there any sign of a bite or Bee / Wasp sting? Is there any swelling at all?

No swelling or bite spot. She just chews and licks. Mostly in the evening. She doesn't limp at all when she runs.

Never chew on a joint; just smoke it. ( It's a joke!)
