Thanks for Recommending Victor

Post by bossman » Sat Aug 11, 2012 7:59 pm

Thanks to those on the forum that recommended Victor Dog Food. I made a switch to their Hi Pro Plus ( 30/20) about two months ago from a good, but much more expensive brand. Could not be more satisfied. Dog's look good, energy levels very good, clean up is easier and actually feeding a little less. Just another example, imo, of some of the valuable information offered by people on the forum.

Back when I was doing that dog food spreadsheet I wished I was able to get Victor dog food. It looked like a good feed, but only if you could get it locally. (Texas)

Bossman, I guess you are talking about me? You are welcome. I have recommended it to several folks after I used it for a few months. Seems like a quality feed at a decent price and my dogs improved after switching from the Diamond EA. What are you paying for the 30/20 in your area?

I also like Victor. Dogs look great on it, and at about $30/40lb it's hard to beat the price.

Georgia Boy...I'm paying $32 plus some tax. I was paying about $53 per bag for my previous feed. At first I almost felt guilty, but no question, very happy with Victor! The guy that owns the feed store say's he's increasing his weekly order regularly.

I think I am paying $38 here for the 30/20.

Which feed are you getting at $30 per 40#?

I order it in bulk with my breeder and some other folks, which brings the price down :) We order about 20 bags at a time.
I feed the 28/16 (or 18?) to my non-working dogs, and the 30/20 to my trial dogs.

Bossman,

Are you getting the food at a local or a chain store?

Local feed dealers. Now have one 5 miles east of the house and 5 miles west of the house carrying the feed. Have a neighbor that shows Poodles that has made the switch.

I'm glad to know others are seeing the same results with Victor as I am. I switched nearly a year ago when they started carrying it at our local grain elevator. We were paying $23.00 then but it's up to $28.00 now.
