I have a female that is about a year old, I just noticed she has a very small (size of a #8) hard ball about 2 inches from the tip of her ear??? Does anyone have a clue what this could be? Thanks for the help!

maybe an old injury that's healed over.

One of my Britts has one on/in each of her earflaps. they don;t seem to bother her at all, but I keep forgetting to ask the vet about them when I'm in there

all 4 of mine have some small knots in their ears...not really an issue. I figure they are old scratches, thorn injuries.......

My Britt has a genetic defect with a rather large knot of cartilage in the left ear flap. It tends to plug up the ear according to my vet and not allow as good of drying. Consequently, this poor dog has chronic ear infections if he goes swimming. During the time of year he is in nasty water (hunting season), we are supposed to clean his ears twice a week and administer this anti-fungal medicine.

I've got a few in my own ears from spending too many years on the wrestling mats... I wouldn't worry too much as long as the dog isn't digging at them... I'd keep an eye on them tho...
