Has anyone had there dog pee more often than normal? i know this can sometime be a sign of a UTI but that is not the case.. It seems that after hunting/running a while she will squat more than often and sometime quite often.. Most of the time it may be a drop or two? I will be taking her to the vet soon to maybe run some test..

Any insight?

I had a female Jr Terrier that did that. She would always squat and nothing came out. I have no idea why she did that but she lived for 18 years.

I would ask the vet if cystine stones or other bladder stones are a possibility. Cystine stones are an inherited condition perhaps you can ask the breeder.

try apple cider vinegar in his water and yogurt in the food. what are you feeding?

From your post , it sounds like you haven't been to the vet yet. How do you know it's not an UTI?

i am feeding Pro Plan performance.. I have been to the vet and was given the aniboiotics for a UTI.. seems to still be happening and i wanted to see what any one elses thoughts were prior to havings test ran.

Try some cranberry capsules, two per day.

If its during hunting or training I wouldn't worry to much, my setter seems to pee more often during endurance times. The vet told me they will try and keep there bowels empty to give them more endurance. Don't know if its true but it doesn't seem to have a neg affect.

It seems to be during exrended period times of hunting or activity.. It doesnt seem to bother her at all but i want tp make sure it doesnt get worse.. It is annoying though, she doesnt ever cover up after another dog goes but i guess it could be marking

It could definitely be simply behavioral, i have a spayed female who will still mark. Finish out the antibiotics, if she still does it, then blame it on behavior

This is what I was thinking too. Some also are sniffing around while the Pee and do not finish or even start and move on to something else and then HAVE to go.

I have two in each catogory, each GSP.

No dog is not spayed..

I would have her checked again, to see that the UTI you treated for has not reoccurred. How old is the female and for how long have you noticed this?

My girl pees a lot when she is coming in heat. Drives my males nuts. Drool and slobbering over her mark. Yuk. . Not sure if this could be happening to yours.

She is 2 yrs 3mos. She shouldnt be coming into heat either.. I started noticing this aboit a month or.so.ago.. And have been watching it

I did get urine test back and no signs of anything everything looks good.. So at this point vet said to increase the liquid intake..i.e. Cranberry ice cubes, canned food to see if the urine is so concentrated due to lack of loquid that she get tye sensation to go often. After a few days of that we going to check for stones.. Dog seems happy and very active.. No signs of discomfort..

I understand that but it does not look as if she is marking.. I have seen females mark.. I just dont think that is what she is doing.. Well see

Had the same issue rise up with my young female.Every time she went outside she would urinate, walks in the woods maybe 8-10 times. Thought it could have been a UTI then thought maybe diabetic, she then came into heat shortly thereafter. Have not had the issue come up again. If it still is occurring and you are concerned then I would consult with a certified vet.

So after several vet visits, no UTI or bladder stones.. The eray looked good.. The only thing that we noticed was that she was fill of feces.. And that be pushing down on her bladder.. Her urine test was real high in protein.. So i am adding pumpkin to her diet for.a few weeks to see what happens.. May have.to change the diet up. She will usually only go poop 1 time a day so maybe its just backed up.. Well see.. If this.doeant help then the.next step is urinary specialist.

I remember going to the Dr. once for abdominal pain. He told me I was "full of shti " - true story.
