What the heck is wrong with this dog ? Has only nibbled at his kibble for 4 days - maybe 1or 2 mouthfuls. Lives in the house so I have monitored it closely.
Seems perfectly fine . Was out yesterday and ran hard for an hour. Had lots of energy. No signs of pain. Do they just go off their food now and then? I refuse to offer people food - which I know he would eat. ( No one else is feeding him anything including dog biscuits etc....)

PS I just finished paying off his $4000. vet bill from TPLO in the Fall. :(

how is your weather?
I know sometimes our guys here will go off the food a bit when the weather goes from cold to warm

Did you check it's teeth? I had one that wouldn't eat and it turned out that she broke a molar.

How is his stools? Is he still going to the bathroom? Also is he staying hydrated by drinking water? Have you taken his temperature..

These are some things to consider

Of course there is always the Vet if needed.

New bag of food? Does the food have any kind of odor like wet paint?

Maybe a bad bag of dog food??? Twice I have had bad bags of dog food---I have a male that will eat anything and he wouldn't eat it. After about 3 days of barely eating anything, I took a big whiff of the food---it smelled like rotten fish. Bought a new bag from a different store(didn't want one out of the same batch) and they were back to eating like normal. I tried mixing a little bit of the food they wouldn't eat in with some of the new bag---they picked around the old food and just ate the new bag food. Now I do a smell test of every bag I open--if it smells way different than normal I'm a little cautious when I feed it

As long as she is feeling goood I wouldn't worry about it much but check the teeth and just watch for any sign she is deteriating in any way.

If its teeth you might soak the food with water until you get to vet...

Dogs will drive you crazy! We were at the end of the 18kg bag. I opened a new bag and gave her some on the floor. She gobbled it down so..........maybe the end of the bag was stale?(Thank you for the idea MOnster Dad.)
( Didn't bother the other dogs.), maybe she has a neck muscle problem, maybe she has decided she doesn't like the joint supplement I add ( None was added to the floor meal.) Anyone have a crystal ball ? :)

I'll start eliminating independent variables to morow until I solve this.

PS I saw no teeth problems ( She's 7). I've always wet the food up until the dry she ate to day. Maybe she doesn't want it wet anymore.

Fats in the food go rancid pretty fast if the conditions are right. Dogs are pretty good about staying away from rancid fats.

The smell is very easy to pick up. Smells just like wet oil paint.

Problem solved:

"I want the new bag, dry on the floor, in the morning, with none of that supplement in it. Got it?"
