OTC remedies for a slight limp

Post by nanney1 » Mon Apr 08, 2013 6:51 am

Have a dog that I think injured a paw or maybe a shoulder fetching tennis balls or just playing too hard. She can run full speed, jump, and walk without any issues. However, when she trots, I notice a slight limp. I think it may be a paw as she balks a little when I inspect it but I've yet to find anything wrong. So, maybe a slight strain of the shoulder joint. Like I said, she can run and jump, but she does reveal a slight issue when she trots.

What type of over the counter aspirins or pain relievers can be used to relieve any inflammation or pain? Dog only weighs around 32 lbs.

Boswellia Serrata works very well.
No adverse effects or contraindications.

Rest. And keep and eye on the paw/toe nails to be sure it's something else.

Perna, or Green Lipped Mussel, is a proven natural remedy as well.

The studies are very encouraging.

1000 mgs is the usual dosage.

I've been thru this with the Lab. Rest and if it isn't clearing in a few weeks, consult your vet. It could be something chronic or a more serious injury. It was a chronic issue (arthritis) with my Lab in one case and a serious injury (CCL) a different time. Completely different treatment for each.

The one I use is 200 mg per capsule (65% boswellic acid).

To treat this, I'd use two capsules twice a day.
Results are fast.
