Wobbly pup

Post by RYNO » Thu Oct 31, 2013 10:57 am

Last night my 8-1/2 month old setter pup was acting really weird. I took her for a short 20 min walk, and she ate dinner while I prepared mine. She was just laying there while I ate, but when I got up she started to follow me around as usual while doing clean up. When she got up she almost seemed drunk. Her legs were wobbly and had trouble keeping her balance. She never actually fell but stumbled around. After making a couple calls I took her in to the emergency vet where they did blood work, all was normal. No ear infections, not scratching excessively at ears.(thinking maybe a weed seed or something was messing with her equilibrium) She continued to act a bit wobbly till I put her in the kennel and went to sleep. This morning she seems 100% normal. She kind of acted like my old britt did after she had a seizure. Never seen her act like this before.

I'll be heading home to check on her over lunch, but just curious if anyone has seen something like this before?

Thanks,

Ryan

Could be a seizure, could be hypoglycemia. Is she spayed?
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

No, she's not spayed.

Since Wednesday night I have noticed that she's been shaking her head more, like she has something tickling her ear(s). I did find a small weed seed in one ear.
