realtree 30/25

Post by edb » Tue Dec 10, 2013 5:54 pm

Just opened first bag of the Realtree dog food by Corey makers of Inukshuk. Definitely more weight per kibble than Loyall Professional and Nutrisource Super Performance. Very dry to the touch for a 25% fat, no greasy feel. Hoping it will help add some weight to a hard keeper I have. Will give it a week then if weather allows I will get them in a harness and see how they handle stress on it. I will update when I know more.

How is it priced compared to Loyall Professional?

Who carries it/ is it hard to find?

Keep us posted on how it works.

It's priced higher than Loyall . $55 for 33lb bag. It is 585 kcal per cup which is 200 more than Loyall so might average out. I just had my feed place throw a bag on with a shipment from American Distribution. Probably could get it cheaper if someone stocked it locally.

I switched last night with no transition and stools stayed solid today so that is a good sign.

There are two trainers in my area that sell Inukshuk 30/25 for $35 for the 33lb bag. It is pretty much the same food made by the same company.

Issue with Inukshuk is you have to buy direct by the pallet. That prevents most of us from purchasing.

Generally that is the case but these two guys sell to retail single bags.

On the East Coast there are quite a few breeders and trainers that act like distributors.

The guy told me he makes about $5 a bag cash and its enough profit to feed his german shepherd kennel for free.

Anybody living within the distribution footprint of American Distribution can get the product. Ask your local pet store or feed store to order it for you. If your in southern Illinois or SE Missouri let me know.

I have a male that is hard to keep weight on. They sent me a comp 33 pound bag. I know one bag is not a true test to how effective this product is, but I liked it so far.

I was told if I bought half pallet, along with feeding 20% less, that I would be paying about .96 a pound? Problem is, I have one dog that looks like he is starving and I have 2 females that can look at a piece of extra kibble and gain 30 pounds. SO I would need a split pallet. :?

If I had a local store that would carry it, I would be a buyer. OH, and if they took the lab off of the front of the bag.

How does it compare to Native dog food (which has pretty good online rating)?

On line rating have little value from what I have seen over the years. The feed looks like it would be good but is high priced. I am not going to feed something that possibly has gold and silver in it. lol. I can find a lot of good dog foods for almost half the price.
