From what I understand of this condition it is a bacteria picked up from the food / water bowsl. Especially on plastic bowls. Stainless Steel bowls are easier to disinfect and helps eleminate this condition.

Cleaning the dogs affected area with Hydrogyn Peroxide should work well to dry up the "zits". Witch Hazel may work too.

I use stainless steel bowls and sanitize every day. My young Irish setter started getting these on his face at about 8 months old and is 13 months old now and no longer gets them. I associated it just with hormones the way a teenage kid gets zits.

My dog would get a staph infection on her stomach at least once a month.
After numerous trips to the vet for antibiotics that turned her into a zombie I started wiping her down with Povodone Iodine (Walgreens 14.00 that will last forever)
Mixed with warm water to a dark iced tea color. I wipe her down after everytime in the field. Safe to lick or ingest . Maybe worth a try
